Browsing an SKB cases catalogue.

I got a good deal on a Mixer case from SKB sold through our local musical instruments store. I still owe 140$ on it. I then visited the SKB web site and ordered a catalogue which arrived today.

I got the basic functions of the new PA rig working.

I got the basic functions of the new PA to work. I was able to test two channels on the mixer feeding left and right into the A and B channels on the power amp feeding channnel A into one speaker and channel B into another speaker and it all worked. I got sound.

The PA amp is home now.

I got the PA amp paid for now. I also layed away a rack case with impact plastic and sturdy wheels. It allows the mixer to be placed on top and on a slant. I will need a vehicle with a fair amount of space to transport it now. I am tempted to add a PC rack mount server to this case. I will also need a power bar for this system. The PA amp is a Peavey CS-400. I think the B-Channel may be damaged. I am still not sure how to work the mixer but have it all wired up in my office right now.

Here are the spec pages for our 16 channel mixer.

This is the Behringer web page for our new mixer http://www.behringer.com/MX2642A/index.cfm?lang=ENG.

The mixer is now paid for and home. I am using this mixer as a reason to clean my office/study and try to create a home studio. I have spent about half an hour cleaning up paper so far in this very messy fire hazard office. I am now laying away a Peavey 400 Power Amp which will be the muscle behind the new PA system. The more I hang out at Song Bird the more stuff I want. I now want an AKG mixer board microphone and also a pair of AKG headphones and also a rack case for the new PA system. I was also looking at mixer CD recorders by Roland.
